rag & bone // NYFW 2015

One of my favorite shows from this year's New York Fashion Week was the rag & bone Spring and Summer 2016 line. Rag & bone is actually one of my favorite high end stores. Their clothes always have that simple yet chic look about them that I find myself loving and coming back to time and time again. That being said, the Spring and Summer 2016 line was incredible. You can watch the full recorded live stream of the show here, but incase you’re in a place where watching a fashion show may not be completely acceptable, I’ll explain a bit for you.
So as with any fashion show the atmosphere and environment in which you’re presenting the line is nearly as important as the line itself. R&b opted for a simple black backdrop, which I loved. I felt like this really made the clothes the center focus of the show and it also complimented the color scheme beautifully.
The model’s make up and hair were kept really natural. The makeup looking glowing and dewy and the hair straightened in a piecey, messy, natural up-do.

The line stuck to most of the trends that all shows were following for 2016. Those trends being crochet or hand-knitted looking pieces, print blocking, and bare shoulders (personally my favorite from fashion week). Another trend that they played with was face accessories. Rag & bone wasn’t going over the top like Givenchy or Dion Lee with statement-making center pieces on the model’s face, but each model did adorn large hoop earrings which brought the center focus to their face in a more natural way.
Other themes that were in the collection were A-line skirts and dresses, bomber jackets, and mixing and matching different fabrics.
The color scheme had a lot of monochrome colors (probably why I loved it so much) but color popping was also played around with. I love color popping, especially in the spring, so this line was literally right up my ally.

All in all, this line was probably one of my favorites that was shown last week. Rag & bone didn’t disappoint and they’ve made me fall more in love with them as designers and a brand. Make sure you check out the full line and show here if you’re interested! Also below are a few was I took the trends that were in the line and styled them for everyday street style.

Styling Balenciaga leather leggings and a Topshop crop top

Styling an Una Turtleneck Ribbed Midi Dress

Styling rag & bone jeans, a Line Tank and a NewLook sleeveless duster coat
Styling a River Island leather skirt and a crochet knit jumper
I hope you guys are having a good day!

Love,
A. xx
