Fall Trends // Silk

One of the trends that I'm loving this season is silk. When the weather is in-between and can't decide if it wants to be hot or cold, silk is a great choice because of how light and airy the fabric is. Its also extremely versatile in the sense you can dress it up or wear it casual. I love wearing it when I have busy days because you literally feel like you're still in your pajamas while still looking put together and presentable.
Pairing silk pants with a light button down or jean jacket is a fool-proof way of styling them. As for shoes you can go casual like I did with Adidas or dress it up with strappy heels (like these).

Calvin Klein

If there's one brand that knows how to make a comeback it is Calvin Klein. Originally big in the 90s because of colabs with stars like Kate Moss and Mark Wahlburg, the brand has made a huge return in street fashion over the past year (partially due to ad campaigns with models and celebs like Kendall Jenner, Justin Bieber, and Jamie Dorian (just to name a few)). I think the reason, besides the celebrity marketing, Calvin Klein is such a hit is because they have learned how to take simple pieces and make them look timeless and classic. By combining classic cuts with monochrome colors the simplicity is impossible not to fall in love with.

I've had my eye on this jumper for a while and when CK had their Columbus Day sale on Monday I was all over it. Not only is this sweater incredibly soft, comfortable and warm, you feel effortlessly cool and chic while wearing it. For me, a college student, this makes this piece a staple. I spend most of my time traveling to and from campus and having clothes that are both comfortable and stylish is important. Even more importantly, this piece is incredibly versatile. For example you can dress it up by pairing it with a leather jacket or leggings and some type of combat boot (like these Dr. Martins or these boots by Acne Studios). Or you can dress it down with a simple pair of jeans and some white converse. It's completely up to you.
Calvin Klein has proven that they can be worn by anybody with any style of fashion. Because of this they are one of my favorite brands to follow and I'm constantly checking their website for new items (not exactly helping my online shopping problem oops).

Happy Friday guys!

Fall Trends // Back to the 70s

As displayed by street style during Fashion Week in New York, London, Milan and Paris, 70s style is a major player in Fall Fashion 2015. Think suede, flared pants, jean jumpsuits and knee high boots. Personally, I love this. A bad habit that I think society has is that it always gravitates towards what it's comfortable with when it comes to street fashion. In the morning, people will usually grab their trusted pair of skinny jeans and top and call it a day. This trend is completely opposite of this. It's presenting people with a new figure to work with which pushes them to go outside of their comfort zone of what they know and are familiar with.
Here's how I styled a few 70s inspired sets.
Styling Tom-Ford high rise flared jeans

Styling a Top-Shop Suede A-Line skirt

Styling jean on jean with a Burberry Trench

Styling Natasha Zinko denim overalls
