10 Products For a Chill Makeup Routine

As I've gotten older my makeup routine has transitioned from heavy and excessive to light and simple. I love doing my makeup but I also love sleeping and if I have to pick one over the other I will always choose the latter.

This is my everyday makeup routine and, when done efficiently, it can be completed in ten minutes or less.  As you will probably be able to tell, I'm pretty brand loyal to YSL but there's so many dupes on the drugstore market that you can definitely find cheaper substitutes. Everything is also linked so you can go right to the website if you're interested in a product.

Here we go.

(P.S. I'm also listing them in the order of application)

In my opinion, a face primer is the most essential thing in a makeup routine. It will help extend the wear of your foundation and create a barrier between the makeup and your skin. If you're acne prone and tend to wear makeup almost everyday this is really important. With the primer under your foundation, it won't be able to seep into your pores which in turn helps prevent them from being clogged.
I'm not sure if the YSL one actually blurs imperfections but it doesn't have that silicone, slippery feeling that most primers have.

Let's Talk About It // StyleLikeU's I Am What's Underneath

For those who aren’t aware: I’m an avid YouTube viewer. I can literally lay in bed for hours upon hours and view dozens of videos without giving it a second thought. This past week I was doing just that when a recommended video came up on the side and caught my eye.
What really grabbed my attention for this particular video was that in the thumbnail it pictured actress Caitlin Stasey, who most known for her role as Kenna in the CW’s Reign. Caitlin is one of my favorite people to follow in Hollywood mostly because of her blunt realness.
Whenever I watch any interviews with her or go through her social media accounts I always see posts or comments on where she stands on a variety of issues. Regardless on the question of if I agree or disagree with her stances, I always hold people who aren’t afraid to freely speak their minds in extremely high respect. So needless to say, it took me less than a second to click on that video.
This specific video focused on Caitlin’s experience with gender inequality and trying to follow women's standards in Hollywood, but the undertones were centering in on a much bigger picture. Throughout the video, as she told her stories and reflected on events in her life, she was slowly removing one article of clothing after the other until finally she was just left in her underwear. I didn’t really understand what was the point of having the person being interviewed strip down but the more videos I watched the clearer it became.

April New Music Monday (on a Thursday)

Hey guys!
So long time no post! I figured I'd start this post out with a little life update on where I've been since I took an unplanned two and a half week hiatus. Oops.
For those of you who aren't aware I'm a Sophomore Journalism and Fashion Design student. Being a student and doing well in school is my first priority and that means sometimes I'll miss a post here or there depending on what's going on in my academic schedule.
Two weeks ago was my spring break and right after that I went into midterms so I really just took the past three-ish weeks to focus on doing well in my studies.
I hope you guys understand for my absence and I'll be sure to give a warning before I disappear like that again.

Onto regularly scheduled content!

So Zayn's debut album Mind of Mine dropped a couple weeks ago and literally it's been on constant repeat.
My favorites are:
BeFoUr, sHe, dRuNk, rEaR vIeW, lUcOzAdE, TiO, BRIGHT, LIKE I WOULD

Other Favorites from this past month:
Rulle - War of Hearts
Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman
Hailee Steinfeld & DNCE - Rock Bottom
Alessia Cara - Wild Things

Love,
A. xx

(p.s. posts will go up every other day again starting today)
