My Favorite Perfumes

Coco Chanel once said, “A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.” Now, I don’t know if I would go as far as to say that, but I do think that you are never fully dressed without your signature scent.
For me, I associate a lot of my memories with smells. For example, whenever I smell Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift I think of my Sophomore year of High School, my first date for homecoming, and my previously baby pink room. When I smell Creed my mind immediately reminds me of afternoon tea and cuddles with my grandmother. My mind is extremely scent oriented and because of that I tend to obsess over different perfumes and even colognes, making them extremely important to me.
These are my current go to perfumes and scents.

Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb
I read once that before the time you’re 30 you should find your signature perfume and spend the next 30 years wearing it. For me, Flowerbomb is that scent. To describe this scent in a word is would be floral. It’s sweet, but not overly sweet.
Specifically, the top notes are sweet accords of bergamot and green tea. After you get past that scent you immediately hit the floral fragrances of Sambac jasmine, Centifolia rose, freesia and Cattleya orchid. Then it warms up and hits the base of musk and patchouli.

For longevity and throw, this perfume goes above and beyond. I can still smell the base notes on my wrist up to a day later after application. Also, people will be able to smell this scent when they're around you. After you get used to the notes and fragrance don’t be surprised if you start smelling this perfume from others around you during day to day activities.
It must be warned that I’m not the only human who has fallen in love with this scent. In fact, since its launch in 2005 Flowerbomb has been voted time and time again as one of the most popular women’s perfumes. So if what you’re looking for is a perfume that sets you apart from the rest and makes you stand out in a crowd, you won’t find that here. If it doesn’t matter to you how popular the fragrance is, I would head over to your local Saks, Sephora, or Dillards and give this perfume a chance, because I would be willing to bet that you would really love it.

Modern Muse Le Rouge by Estée Lauder
You know how I said that before the time you’re 30 you should find your signature perfume and spend the next 30 years wearing it? Well, now I’m going to tell you that you should find another perfume to occasionally cheat on your favorite with.
Modern Muse Le Rouge launched mid 2015 and since I first tested it, it has quickly become one of my absolute favorites. There’s something that’s timeless about it. It’s one of those scents that is pleasing to almost everyone and can be worn by people of any age.
It’s top notes are red currant, raspberry, pink pepper and saffron. The middle notes are Bulgarian rose, May rose, jasmine and magnolia petals. Lastly, it’s base holds notes of patchouli, vetiver, Madagascar vanilla and ambrette.
This scent lasts a while on me, but it’s no where near the length of time Flowerbomb lasts. If I spray this in the morning, I can still get slight hints of it at the end of the day but its usually almost all but gone. While its on though the scent is beautiful and classy and is a spicy switch up from the usual Flowerbomb fragrance that I like to pair with my everyday aesthetic.

Burberry Brit by Burberry
In a word this is my unique scent. If Flowerbomb and MMLR are floral scents this is opposite of that. I feel like I can only explain what I mean by giving you guys the notes: it opens with notes of green lemon, frosted pear and white almond. The middle note is a fragrance of white peony and the base holds scents of vanilla, amber, mahogany and balsamic Tonka beans.
Because there’s so many contrasting scents in one fragrance it creates an extremely unique scent. But it works. Burberry describes this scent as a fragrance that keeps the tradition but with a modern sound, it brings the English irony and English dignity. I feel like this describes it perfectly because, to me, this is what classic England should smell like.
I tend to gravitate towards this perfume when I’m wearing something that particularly reminds me of my favorite country in the world or if I just want an extra splash of confidence. This scent is so sophisticated, chic, warm and classic. It’s truly a scent that only Burberry could create.

So these are my favorite perfumes. I hold them all near and dear to my heart, fragrances are something that is such a personal thing and scents can unlock memories that we carry with us for our entire lives. Take the time to find your favorites. I promise you won't regret it.

What's some of your guys favorites perfumes? P.S. has anyone tried/have Tom Ford's Black Orchid? It's for sure on my sniff list when I go home for Spring Break and I'm trying to decide if its worth the purchase or not. Let me know!

Love,
A. xx
